Day 1Arrival in Tangier – Gateway to Africa

Arrival & Welcome

  • Pick up Malaga airport
  • Transfer to Tarifa to catch the Ferry to Tangiers.
  • Private transfer to your hotel, where you can refresh and settle in.

Panoramic Tour of Tangier

  • Discover the unique charm of Tangier, a city steeped in history and culture, known as the meeting point of Europe and Africa.
  • Visit key landmarks such as:
    • Cap Spartel – where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea.
    • The Caves of Hercules – legendary site linked to Greek mythology.
    • The Medina & Kasbah – a historic maze of narrow streets and vibrant souks.

Day 2Tangier → Chefchaouen → Fes

Morning: Departure from Tangier

  • After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the scenic drive to Chefchaouen, the iconic “Blue City” nestled in the Rif Mountains.
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of rolling hills and picturesque valleys along the way.

Midday: Discovering Chefchaouen – The Morisco Legacy

  • Arrive in Chefchaouen, a town founded in 1471 by Moorish and Andalusian refugees fleeing the Reconquista of Spain.
  • Guided Tour Highlights:
    • The Blue Medina – Wander through winding alleys painted in mesmerizing shades of blue, a tradition linked to both Andalusian heritage and local spirituality.

Day 3Exploring the Spiritual & Cultural Heart of Fes

Morning: Panoramic View & Introduction to Fes

  • Start the day with a breathtaking panoramic view of Fes from one of its scenic viewpoints, such as the Borj Nord fortress.
  • Your guide will provide an introduction to the city’s 1,200-year-old history, highlighting its role as the intellectual, spiritual, and artisanal capital of Morocco.

Guided Walking Tour of the Fes Medina (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

  • Enter Fes el-Bali, one of the world’s largest and best-preserved medieval cities, with 9,000+ winding alleywaysfilled with history and life.
  • Key highlights include:
    • Al-Qarawiyyin University & Mosque – Founded in 859 by Fatima al-Fihri, it is considered the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
    • Bou Inania Madrasa – A magnificent 14th-century theological school known for its stunning zellij tilework and carved cedarwood architecture.

Day 4Fes → Moulay Idris → Meknes → Rabat

  • After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the journey to Moulay Idris, one of Morocco’s most sacred towns.
  • Enjoy scenic views of the lush Zerhoun Mountains as we travel through the Moroccan countryside.

Moulay Idris – The Birthplace of Islam in Morocco

  • Arrive at the historic town of Moulay Idris, the final resting place of Moulay Idris I, the founder of Morocco’s first Islamic dynasty.
  • Enjoy a guided walk through the whitewashed hillside town, visiting panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley.
  • Learn about the significance of Moulay Idris in Moroccan history and the spread of Islam in the region.

Meknes – The Imperial City of Sultan Moulay Ismail

  • A short drive takes us to Meknes, a former imperial city known for its grand architecture and rich history.

Day 5Exploring Rabat → Return to Tangier

  • Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a guided tour of Rabat’s key historical and cultural landmarks.
  • As Morocco’s elegant capital, Rabat offers a blend of rich history, Andalusian influences, and modern charm.

Guided Tour of Rabat – The Royal Capital

  • Hassan Tower & Mausoleum of Mohammed V – One of Rabat’s most iconic landmarks, this 12th-century minaret was intended to be the world’s tallest but was left unfinished. Adjacent to it is the royal mausoleum, the final resting place of King Mohammed V and his sons, Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah.
  • Kasbah of the Udayas – A beautifully preserved UNESCO-listed fortress offering stunning Atlantic Ocean views, charming blue-and-white Andalusian-style streets, and a peaceful escape from the bustling city.
  • Royal Palace of Rabat (exterior) – The official residence of the King of Morocco, showcasing impressive traditional Moroccan architecture.
  • Chellah Necropolis – An ancient Roman and Islamic site, where crumbling minarets and Roman ruins stand side by side, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s layered history.

Lunch & Departure for Tangier

  • Enjoy a delicious halal lunch at a local restaurant in Rabat, savoring Moroccan specialties like seafood tagine, fresh grilled fish, or traditional couscous.
  • After lunch, we begin our journey back to Tangier, tracing the stunning Atlantic coastline.

Evening: Arrival & Free Time in Tangier

  • Arrive in Tangier by early evening and check into your hotel for your final night in Morocco.

Day 6Final Day in Tangier – A Relaxing Farewell to Morocco

Morning: Leisurely Breakfast & Relaxation

  • Begin your final day in Morocco with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, enjoying the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine, including msmen (Moroccan pancakes), honey, olives, fresh bread, and mint tea.
  • Take time to reflect on the incredible journey through Northern Morocco, cherishing the history, culture, and experiences that made this adventure unforgettable.

After breakfast, we depart for Málaga via ferry to Tarifa.
We expect to arrive in Málaga by late afternoon, provided there are no ferry delays.
If you’d like to extend your stay, an extra night’s accommodation in Málaga can be arranged for an additional cost.
